I met Robyn in November of 2008 when she was living with her grandmother several doors down from my place here in our retirement community in Huntington Beach, CA. She was struggling at the time, trying to find a new path, get her feet on the ground. I was fortunate to have spent some time having chats and warm conversations with her, encouraging her, enjoying the moments we'd talk as neighbors, and ultimately as friends. Being 40 years her senior, I tried to impart what I could to encourage her to find a different way. What I remember the most was young Robyn's genuine warmth, honesty, smile, and good cheer. She was a sweetie, and I was devastated when her grandmother told me the other day of her passing. I will always be haunted by that, knowing that wonderful Robyn did not have a chance to fulfill all her dreams now that she was on such a new and happy, positive path. My deepest regrets and sympathies go out to her loved ones. She will be missed so much. What a wonderful girl. Dear, dear Robyn. Jim Lekas Huntington Beach, CA
